Professional Practicum is a new initiative that offers undergraduate students a high-level, challenging industry experience while under the mentorship and guidance of Khoury College faculty. Over a flexible or semester-long experience, your work directly contributes to an industry partner’s projects. You’ll gain practical skills and valuable industry insights and learn how to translate academic concepts into real-world contributions, while building a professional network for after graduation. 

Each industry project has its own requirements. Khoury College faculty and staff help match student applicants to the practicum that best fits their skill set and experience level. With faculty oversight, students often work on bigger projects than in the classroom or on co-op. One example includes building an organization’s internal app for communication from the ground up that mixes the best of Twitter and Reddit. Practicum is a for-credit or paid experience, and sometimes both, depending on the hours per week.
