My Background
I graduated from UCLA with an Economics degree. Shortly after graduating, I realized I had a passion for coding. I attended a web development night course that was pivotal in my choice to pursue software engineering. I eventually attended a coding boot camp and worked as a software engineer for a couple of years. However, over time, I realized I was missing some gaps in my computer science fundamentals. This program offers everything I was looking for. Northeastern provides courses that target all the areas to make a confident and capable engineer. The education quality Northeastern provides guarantees the longevity of my career. Additionally, the location and co-op offer great opportunities to work in future-forward industries and network.
My Future
I aspire to work as a full-stack developer and hope to narrow the gender gap in big tech companies. With a master’s degree, I eventually plan to work in upper management and become a voice for aspiring female leaders in STEM. Additionally, I want to represent non-traditional software engineers and empower many to change their careers. I aim to give others faith that it is possible to do the switch regardless of background.
