My Background
After graduating from Fort Lewis College with a BA in English and Writing, I began my career as an AmeriCorps volunteer, where I facilitated after school programs for the Boys and Girls Club. This position sparked my interest in education, so I became a high school English teacher and a special education teacher. During my career, I made a positive impact on many underserved students in a rural New Mexico community, but after a few years I realized that I could make an even greater impact through software development. Therefore, I enrolled in the Align program in order to learn the skills necessary in this expanding field that can help make positive changes for many people around the globe.
My Future
I want to gain experience in the software industry so I can create my own educational software to help teachers be effective in the classroom.
