Boston University
I graduated from Boston University with a degree in film and television in the fall of 2020. Shortly after graduation, I started working at a non-profit in downtown Boston as a podcast producer, while also working as a production assistant for Channel 7 News. I joined the Align program with no prior experience in computer science.
What interested me the most in the Align program was the amount of people coming from different backgrounds, and that everyone starts at the same level of knowledge, so it isn’t intimidating coming into the program. It can be overwhelming at first, but the more you practice, the better you get. The support from professors and teaching assistants is amazing, and it will prepare you for any challenge that comes your way.
As it is my first semester, I haven’t started the co-op process, but I want to do a co-op at a company that allows me to use both my previous experience in film and my knowledge in computer science. I’m also interested in the gaming industry because I’ve always been interested in understanding how bugs in games can be fixed.
