A New and Distinctive Research Opportunity
The Khoury College Distinguished Postdoctoral Fellowship is a prestigious fellowship opportunity for researchers in computer science and adjacent fields who have completed their PhDs and want to launch their independent research career. This postdoctoral fellowship is a unique chance to pursue your research interests with the financial backing of the College. Compared to other postdoctoral positions, the Khoury Distinguished Postdoctoral Fellowship provides a much higher degree of independence. Fellows will be assigned one or two faculty mentors, closely related to their research and interest, who will guide and work with them. However, the Distinguished Postdoctoral Fellowship provides a high level of autonomy, allowing Fellows the flexibility to work with any faculty mentor during the fellowship term. This model allows researchers the independence, flexibility, and support required to solve the fields’ most complex problems. The two-year postdoctoral fellowship provides researchers with discretionary funds for travel and research expenses, the opportunity to apply for external funding so they can gain valuable experience with proposal writing, as well as close guidance from one of Khoury’s faculty members who will prepare the fellows to apply for tenure-track positions at the completion of the fellowship.
The Distinguished Postdoctoral Fellowship was launched in 2023 with an inaugural cohort of five fellows joining Khoury in Fall 2023. Khoury College expects to award another 3-5 fellowships in 2025 with Fellows starting in Fall 2025. Applicants are strongly encouraged to apply by February 20, 2025. Applications submitted after that date, or applications that are missing reference letters, will be considered on a rolling basis but are not guaranteed to receive full consideration.
