Renewal of CyberCorps® Scholarship for Service
Agnes Chan (PI), professor and executive director of Cyber Security Programs at CCIS, and David Kaeli (co-PI), Northeastern University College of Engineering Distinguished Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, have received a $4.6M four-year award from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to continue and expand its participation in the CyberCorps® Scholarship for Service (SFS) program.
This is a renewal of an NSF grant that prepares Cyber Corp for the nation that has been with the College since 2008. The grant supports both undergraduate and graduate students studying cyber security. Students in the program will be provided with full tuition support and activity fees, along with a yearly stipend, textbook and professional development expenses. They are also afforded paid co-op and/or internship opportunities with federal agencies. Graduates from the program are working in NSA, CIA, FBI, White House office and other national research laboratories. The new renewal aims at supporting 8 students per year for the next 4 years starting fall.
