PlusOne Program with MS in Bioinformatics
The PlusOne Accelerated Master’s Program empowers motivated students like you to start earning your master’s degree while pursuing your undergraduate education. In this program, you can take up to four graduate-level courses and apply them to both your undergraduate and graduate computer science degrees. Gain foundational computer science knowledge and experience while reducing the time it takes to complete a master’s from two years to one.

Program eligibility
Up to four graduate-level courses may be applied toward both the undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Students in the following degree programs can complete a PlusOne with the MS in Bioinformatics degree:
- BS in Computer Science
- BS in Computer Science and Biology
- BS in Computer Science and Behavioral Neuroscience
- BS in Data Science and Behavioral Neuroscience
- BS in Data Science and Biochemistry

Admission requirements
BS in Computer Science:
To apply to the PlusOne program, students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and be enrolled in or have completed BIOL 2301/BIOL 2302 Genetics and Molecular Biology.
BS in Computer Science and Biology
To apply to the PlusOne program, students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and be enrolled in or have completed BIOL 2301/BIOL 2302 Genetics and Molecular Biology and BIOL 3611/3612 Biochemistry.
BS Computer Science and Behavioral Neuroscience
To apply to the PlusOne program, students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and be enrolled in or have completed BIOL 2301/BIOL 2302 Genetics and Molecular Biology, CHEM 2311/CHEM 2312 Organic Chemistry 1, and at least one behavioral neuroscience foundation course.
BS Data Science and Behavioral Neuroscience:
To apply to the PlusOne program, students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and be enrolled in or have completed BIOL 2301/BIOL 2302 Genetics and Molecular Biology, CHEM 2311/CHEM 2312 Organic Chemistry 1, and at least one behavioral neuroscience foundation course.

Albert-László Barabási is the Robert Gray Dodge Professor of Network Science and a Distinguished University Professor at Northeastern University, director of the Center for Complex Network Research, and a joint appointee within Khoury College and the College of Science. His award-winning work includes the discovery of scale-free networks and the Barabási-Albert model to explain their prevalence in natural, technological, and social systems.
