BS in Computer Science and Music with a Concentration in Music Technology

The BS in Computer Science and Music with a Concentration in Music Technology explores how digital technologies enhance and sometimes challenge music composition and performance. This combined major (Khoury College and the College of Arts, Media and Design) provides a strong foundation in computing as you study composition for acoustic and electronic instruments. This program is recommended for students with an extensive background in music.

Learning outcomes

In this program, you’ll learn to:

  • Apply design principles in the construction of software systems of varying complexity.
  • Use current techniques, skills, and tools necessary for effective and secure computing practice.
  • Apply mathematical foundations, algorithmic principles, and computer science theory in the modeling and design of computer-based systems in a way that demonstrates comprehension of the tradeoffs involved in design choices.
