Biography
Yaniv Amiri is a doctoral student in the Khoury College of Computer Sciences at Northeastern University, based in Boston. He is advised by Stacy Marsella.
Within the CESAR Lab, Amiri strives to model human decision-making under stressful scenarios. In particular, he is asking why seemingly minor players in supply chains can cause huge disruptions that test chain resiliency, especially in pharmaceutical supply chains. He has an acute interest in disaster response stemming from an undergraduate fascination with Pompeii and the eruption of Mount Vesuvius.
Prior to joining Khoury College in 2021 for his master’s in data science (and continuing with his PhD in 2023), Amiri was a full-stack developer and data scientist at Boundless Robotics, where he designed and implemented the back end and companion app for the company’s machinery. Outside of his research, Amiri enjoys passionate conversations about anything from philosophy and music to comedy and sports.
