Biography
Victoria Hill is an assistant co-op coordinator at the Khoury College of Computer Sciences at Northeastern University. She received her master’s in education at Northeastern and her bachelor’s in psychology at St. Michael’s College. Prior to joining Northeastern, Hill worked at Education First, where she developed short-term study abroad opportunities with college faculty and administrators. Before joining Khoury College, she worked in Student Affairs, helping students navigate their transitions through college.
In her current role, Hill helps students find co-ops that are the right fit for them personally and professionally, provides the tools and helps develop the skills they will need to succeed there, and helps them reflect on how to maximize their experiences and the doors they open. She most enjoys working with students through their questions and obstacles and working together to create a solution. She believes it is important for students to know that staff and faculty are in their corner.
Hill’s most formative educational experiences were outside of the traditional classroom: internships, practicum, community service, study abroad, etc. This is what motivated her to pursue a career where she could create and facilitate experiential learning opportunities, and work with students to get the most out of them. Hill is motivated by the opportunity to support students before, during, and after their co-ops so they can get the most out of their college experience.
Hill thinks the work of Khoury College, and the attitude of the faculty and staff truly show that computer science is everywhere, and computer science is for everyone. The portfolio of interdisciplinary research between Khoury College and the other colleges at Northeastern is a perfect example of computer science being a critical part of nearly every sector.
Hill grew up in Acton, Massachusetts.
