Tehmina Amjad is an associate teaching professor in the Khoury College of Computer Sciences at Northeastern University, based in Silicon Valley.
Over 16 years as a professor at one of Pakistan’s most prestigious universities, Amjad discovered a drive to advance the intellectual development of her students. Now, in her courses on discrete structures and information retrieval, she imparts the foundational concepts that connect Align students to more advanced computing concepts — with analytics and data science concepts sprinkled in.
In her research, Amjad has delved into a litany of topics, including citation analysis, topic modeling, knowledge diffusion, health care analytics, machine learning, neural networks, natural language processing, author name disambiguation, and library information sciences. The slew of leading journals in which she has published — including Future Generation Computer Systems, Scientometrics, and multiple IEEE publications — reflects her never-ending appetite for exploring new areas and working on challenging issues.
Outside of academia, Amjad enjoys traveling to scenic locations where she can experience other cultures and interact with new people.
