Biography
Sweeny Youkhane is an assistant director of graduate student services in the Khoury College of Computer Sciences at Northeastern University, based in Silicon Valley.
After two years as an advisor and adjunct instructor in Northeastern’s College of Professional Studies, Youkhane joined Khoury College in 2023, excited by the chance to learning about another Northeastern college and impressed with the amount of support the college provides to its students. She is passionate about making the student experience positive and memorable for the hundreds of Silicon Valley and Oakland students within her purview.
Youkhane has been interested in helping students to take advantage of opportunities for some time. She served in numerous student support roles while completing her master’s degree in educational counseling at the University of Southern California, including as an academic advising graduate assistant, a career services intern, and a resident assistant. She also spent a year as an academic advisor at the University of Washington and three years teaching second grade.
In her free time, Youkhane loves reading and watching horror stories and playing with her black cat, Salem.
