Biography
Sandy Ganzell is a teaching professor at the Khoury College of Computer Sciences at Northeastern University, based at the Roux Institute in Portland, Maine.
Ganzell joined Khoury College in 2024, excited by the opportunity to teach in the Align program. Before that, his home base was the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at St. Mary’s College of Maryland; he spent 19 years in various professorships there — including three years as department chair — and was presented with the school’s Homer L. Dodge Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2023. He has also taught at the University of The Gambia, Pomona College, and Rice University.
Ganzell is a former All-American gymnast and former Beach Ultimate world champion. In his spare time, he enjoys rock climbing, tuning pianos, and constructing crossword puzzles.
