Samantha Dies

PhD Student

Samantha Dies is a PhD student at the Khoury College of Computer Sciences. She earned her bachelor’s in mathematics and computer science from Georgetown University. She is affiliated with the Rad Lab. 

Her research area is machine learning in network science, in which she focuses on problems in the intersection of ethics and computer science as they relate to machine learning on graphs, such as fairness. Her faculty advisor is Tina Eliassi-Rad.

Outside of work, Dies enjoys playing water polo and volleyball, and is passionate about inspiring women to pursue majors and careers in STEM.
