Biography
Philip Bogden is an associate teaching professor at the Khoury College of Computer Sciences at Northeastern University. He specializes in data visualization, data science, web technologies, and artificial intelligence.
Before joining Khoury College in 2021, Bogden taught graduate-level data visualization and machine learning at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County; he also served on the faculty at Yale University and the University of Connecticut. Outside of academia, Bogden has provided custom data analytics and visualizations for numerous clients, including oil, gas, and financial services companies. He served as CEO of a nonprofit that provided real-time environmental data as a public service, and he spent two years developing and implementing open data policy and cyber-infrastructure for the National Science Foundation.
Bogden has rowed competitively since college, and has won numerous regattas across several event types. He works at Northeastern’s Maine-based Roux Institute, and enjoys sculling with friends in the nearby coastal waters.
