Biography

Matias Volonte is a postdoctoral research associate at the Khoury College of Computer Sciences at Northeastern University, advised by Tim Bickmore. His research focuses on human-computer interaction, dialogue systems, personal health informatics and virtual reality. Volonte is also affiliated with the Relational Agents Group at Northeastern.

Volonte earned his doctorate in human-centered computing from Clemson University before joining Northeastern in 2021. He was the Publications Chair for IEEE VR 2022 and a committee judge for IEEE VR 3DUI. In 2022, Volonte received the Recognition of Service Award from IEEE VR. Outside of academic research, he is passionate about music and loves playing drums.
