Biography
Maryam Tanha is an assistant teaching professor in the Khoury College of Computer Sciences at Northeastern University, based in Vancouver.
Tanha’s research interests are deeply rooted in detecting Android malware and designing resilient software-defined networks. In 2022, as a faculty member at the BCIT School of Computing and Academic Studies, she received a grant to study how to use machine learning to detect and analyze Android malware, and to mentor undergraduate students in that topic.
Tanha joined Khoury College as a part-time lecturer in 2023 to teach computer networking fundamentals, then transitioned to a full-time role in 2025, excited by the chance to engage more deeply with students in the MS in CS and Align programs.
In her free time, Tanha enjoys jogging, traveling, and watching movies based on real events.
