Biography
Mahdi Haghifam is a Distinguished Postdoctoral Fellow in the Khoury College of Computer Sciences at Northeastern University, based in Boston.
Haghifam’s research, conducted in collaboration with Jonathan Ullman, focuses on the theoretical foundations of trustworthy machine learning, with a focus on privacy and generalization. His research has been recognized several times, including with a Best Paper Award at ICML 2024 and the MITACS Accelerate Fellowship. He also spent time as a research intern with Google Brain’s differential privacy team and was recognized as a top reviewer at NeurIPS in 2021 and 2023.
Haghifam’s research has appeared in such conferences and journals as NeurIPS, ICML, ISIT, and COLT.
