Hiba Ahsan is a doctoral student in the Khoury College of Computer Sciences at Northeastern University, based in Boston. She is advised by Silvio Amir and Byron Wallace. 

Hiba’s research focuses on the use of natural language processing to extract information from patient notes with minimal human supervision. She is passionate about easing electronic health record navigation for clinicians through her research. 

Prior to joining Khoury College in 2023, Hiba interned at Netflix and LinkedIn during her master’s program at University of Massachusetts Amherst. She also worked as a research engineer for Bing Advertising at Microsoft where she improved the relevance of text ads shown on the search engine through machine learning and natural language processing. In her free time, Hiba enjoys hiking.
