Biography
Hari Palani is an associate research scientist at the Khoury College of Computer Sciences at Northeastern University. He received his bachelor's in engineering from the College of Engineering, Guindy, and both his master's and PhD in spatial informatics from the University of Maine.
He is affiliated with the Data Visualization group and Roux Institute's Human-Data Interaction research group. Palani is currently researching formal methods and human-computer interaction. He has been received numerous awards for his research and been published in: International Journal of Human-Computer Interaction Multimodal Technologies and Interaction ACM Transactions on Accessible Computing (TACCESS), Interactive Multimedia-Multimedia Production and Digital Storytelling, International Conference on Applied Human Factors and Ergonomics, and the International Conference on Universal Access in Human-Computer Interaction.
Prior to joining Northeastern, Palani worked as the principal research engineer and CEO at UNAR Labs, a User Experience Research at VEMI Lab and IDEXX Laboratory.
Outside of the lab, he enjoys carpentry and construction, and is an avid motorcycle rider.
