Biography
David Stein is an assistant professor in the Khoury College of Computer Sciences at Northeastern University, based in Boston. He is jointly appointed with the School of Law.
Stein studies how law and technology influence each other. During his time at New York University’s School of Law, he was a research scholar at the Guarini Institute for Global Law and Tech, a fellow at the Information Law Institute, and instructor for a seminar on global tech law.
Stein has also built a robust industry career, including as a tech lead at Google subsidiary Sidewalk Labs, where he worked on data security, privacy, and smart street grids. He was also director of product engineering at Braze, an early member of the engineering team at Dropbox, and is a committee member of the Vermont Judiciary Committee on Artificial Intelligence and the Courts.
