Biography
Daniel Feinberg is a part-time lecturer at the Khoury College of Computer Sciences at Northeastern University. He earned his Doctor of Education in curriculum and leadership from Northeastern, his Master of Business Administration in healthcare management from Boston University, and his bachelor’s in political science and government from Brandeis University. Feinberg’s current research focuses on STEM education. At Northeastern, he teaches HINF 6220: Database Design, Access, Modeling, and Security, and HINF 6230: Strategic Topics in Programming for Health Professionals.
Between 2009 and 2018, Feinberg served as the director of the interdisciplinary Master of Science in Health Informatics Program. He founded several companies prior to assuming his current position, the most recent of which was RetinaCheck, a telemedicine company. He also had been the project manager for an electronic medical record system for mental health providers.
Feinberg’s interests lie at the intersection of technology, health care, and business. He previously served as the president of the New England Chapter of the Health Information Management Systems Society. Feinberg enjoys teaching students who are completely new to databases and programming, as he helps them learn to think in the ways required for these topics.
