Bio:
Alexia Monsen is the director of communications in the Khoury College of Computer Sciences at Northeastern University, based in Boston.
Monsen oversees all internal and external communications, messaging, public relations, website content, social and creative media, and graphic design. She loves to build big-picture strategies and workflows, help Khoury College to tell its story through many voices, and create internal and external advocates for the college.
Monsen was drawn to Khoury College in 2023 by the school’s mission to make computer science education available to everyone. Before joining, Monsen spent 13 years at Iron Mountain, a global information management services company where she spearheaded enterprise-wide communication strategies and programs in multiple director-level roles. She had previously held communications positions at The Rivers School, Sunlife Financial, Northeastern University, and Porter Novelli International.
Outside of work, Monsen has a bevy of interests and hobbies, including running, biking, tennis, hiking, golf, gardening, travel, and backyard beekeeping.
