  • Ricardo Baeza-Yates

    Ricardo Baeza-Yates is a professor of the practice and the director of research at Northeastern’s Institute for Experiential AI. He has held leadership positions in tech companies on three continents, taught in Spain and Chile, and co-wrote the best-selling textbook Modern Information Retrieval — among more than 600 other publications.

  • Florin Bidian

    Florin Bidian is a professor of the practice and the coordinator of the economics–data science program in the Khoury College, jointly appointed with the College of Social Sciences and Humanities (CSSH). His research explores the intersection of data science, machine learning, and economics.

  • Cliff Forlines

    Clifton Forlines is an associate research professor at Khoury College, affiliated with the Northeastern University Visualization Consortium (NUVis). His human-computer interaction research focuses on the relationship between input and visual data manipulation, to provide meaningful insights from data and support better decision-making.

  • Holly Jimison

    Holly B. Jimison is a research professor jointly appointed between Khoury College and the Bouvé College of Health Sciences, and the director of the Consortium on Technology for Proactive Care at Northeastern University. Her research contributions exploring technology for successful aging and scalable remote care for older adults have earned her a position as a fellow of the American College of Medical Informatics.

    Mario Nascimento is a professor of the practice and the director of Pacific Northwest research at Khoury College. His research focuses on data science, specifically spatiotemporal databases.

  • Mahsan Nourani

    Mahsan Nourani is a research assistant professor at Khoury College. Her research explores how people of varying backgrounds understand and interact with AI-assisted decision-making systems and the impact those systems have on societies, with the goal of enabling human-centered and responsible AI.

  • Misha Pavel

    Misha Pavel is a research professor, jointly appointed between Khoury College and the Bouvé College of Health Sciences. He researches behavioral informatics with a focus on multi-scale computational modeling of behaviors and their control, which can be applied to everything from elder care to the augmentation of human performance.
