    For Sam Wu-Ochs, a company’s mission is key. Impressed with Outcomes4Me’s drive to democratize cancer care, he applied for a co-op at the company as an undergraduate student. Now, he works there full time and is helping shape the company’s future.

    Christina Rong was initially attracted to Khoury College for its career-accelerating co-op program. Now working full time at Outcomes4Me, her former co-op, she leverages her software engineering experience to improve patients’ access to cancer treatment.

    Marvin Sagastume was drawn to Northeastern by Khoury College’s combined majors, giving him the opportunity to blend his computing passion with something wider. Now at Outcomes4Me, he’s doing just that.

    For almost a decade, Mark Miller headed educational technology investigations at Apple. Now a professor in the Align program, he feels a strong connection to the program’s mission of broadening participation in tech — the very issue he’d been tackling for years.

    With a graduate degree from the prestigious Juilliard School, Armen Sarkisian was firmly on the classical music track. But with the desire to learn wildly different skills and forge his future in tech, he traded New York for Silicon Valley and joined Khoury College’s Align program.

    Cecilia Lopez has long been passionate about computer science. But after majoring in linguistics, she was unsure when to take the CS leap. Enrolling in the Align program on a whim, she found a world of career opportunities — proving that it's never too late to pursue new interests.

    For Becky Mashaido, the draw of Align was straightforward — a master’s program in computing that offered access to San Francisco’s tech pioneers, but did not require an undergraduate CS degree. And after finding a unique and uplifting sense of community there, she made it her mission to uplift others.

    Alvaro Monge works hard to make sure his students can always see a way forward: “The thing that really defines success for me is a student having been heard, and providing them with a way forward… Coming home at the end of the day, if I know that I've made a difference, in one way or another, that's been a successful day.”

    Aida Sharif Rohani was ready to shift away from chemical engineering but she struggled to find a master’s program in computer science that didn’t require a matching bachelor’s degree. Discovering the Align program opened the door for her to pursue her interests — and to a role at NASA.

    When William Chen joined the Align program, he felt a sense of purpose and dedication rippling across the student body. Now a full-time software developer at Amazon Web Services, he credits his time in the program for teaching him how to work in a large team environment.

    LeAnn Mendoza knew she wanted to work in tech, but she wasn’t sure how she would fit in with a bachelor’s degree in bioengineering. Her time in the Align program helped bridge that experience with a computer science education, opening doors she didn’t realize were there.

    As a Division I college football player, Tim Crawley had a packed schedule that made it impossible to prioritize his favorite classes — resulting in a bachelor’s degree in a field he wasn’t passionate about. As an Align student, he pursued his passion for computer science and soon began seeing his desired career take shape.
