(a) 5 points.  1 for understanding the summation (which terms to
include, etc.).  1 point for each of the 3 plots.  1 for a 1-2
sentence comparison of the plots.

(b) 2 points for understanding which terms to include.  1 point for the
plot.  2 points for comparison with previous signal.

Problem 2:

2 points for Bandwidth calculation.  Deduct 1 point in case of error.

2 points for SNR calculation (no need to calculate in dB).  Deduct 1
point for error.

Problem 3:

1 point for attempt.

1 point for using the correct path loss formula.

1 point for ensuring the correct use of units.

1 point each for the correct calculation in each case.

Problem 4:

1 point for attempt.

1 point for correct formula.

1 point for correct use of units.

1 point for taking gains into account.

1 point for correct calculation.

Problem 5:

1 point for correct energy formula.

Other than that 3 points for first part, 3 for the second.

In each part, 1 point for correct E_b calculation, 1 point for correct
N_0 calculation, and 1 point for correcy overall answer.

If their answers are wrong but the answer for part (b) is half 
of that for part (a), give at least 3 points overall.

Problem 6:

This was very easy.  

1 point for attempt.

Correct bandwidth formula = 2 points.  

1 point for the calculations.

1 point for the final remark.

Problem 7:

(a) 1 point for correct formula.  1 point for getting bound on n, and
1 point for getting the number of quantizing levels.

(b) Easy.  1 point for attempt and 1 point for getting the correct
answer.

Problem 8:

Reasonable picture 4 points.

Deduct 1 point each (up to a maximum of 4 points) for each error in
showing the delta changes.
