Designing Persuasive Environments and Technologies
Project (preliminary) demonstration

Goals
The goal of this assignment is for you to demonstrate that you are well on your way to being able to complete your final project by the end of the term and that you will not hit any implementation stumbling blocks that will prevent you from concentrating on the human-computer interface and persuasion issues.
For implementation projects
For those who are doing implementation projects, on Tuesday at a scheduled time with Stephen you should do a 10 minute live demo of your technology. It is not expected that you will have too much functioning in terms of persuasion, i.e. there will likely be a large amount of coding related to the GUI to do. However, you need to demonstrate that all the key enabling technologies you need are working. This includes sensors and output mechanisms (e.g. accelerometers, speech recognition, wireless communication, typing break dectection, etc.)
The assumption is that from this point forward you will focus entirely on the GUI and that you will not have to spend any time getting enabling infrastructure to work. You should be able demonstrate the enabling infrastructure convincingly, therefore.
For design projects
For those who are doing design projects, on Tuesday either before or after class (scheduled in advance) you should be able to show Stephen some of the detailed renderings/models you will be using to make the case for your technology. You should also be able to show a very simple mockup of some digital component to illustrate that you know how to use the tools necessary to convey your ideas (e.g. a Flash mockup).
Hand-in
There is nothing to hand-in for this assignment. Send an email to Stephen prior to the 29th to schedule a time on the 30th for a 10 minute demo of what you have.
