Evaluate your idea given the feedback your team has received.

If your idea is being well received, you will add additional detail. If your idea is not being well received, you should consider a major shift in direction or a completely new idea. Your final project will need to address an important, real-world health problem, innovate technically, and be ambitious but work within the constraints of the semester so you can have a polished, innovative, and important/useful app by Dec 9.

The importance of selection of a good idea can't be underestimated, and teams are strongly encouraged to gather as much feedback from classmates, friends, family, and the instructors as possible before making a final decision.

You must also make progress on the technical development that is required to make your idea work. You are probably going to be locked into a technology platform at this point, because you will need time to figure out how to get it to work for your purposes.

For this assignment, your team needs to flesh out the idea in enough detail so that you understand everything that the application will need to do and all the technical components that must be built. This will probably involve trying to specify what will be displayed when.

Next, develop an extended "elevator pitch" for the idea.

We will invite experts into the class to listen to your presentations. Imagine you are making a pitch to an investor. You want to build this app, so you must justify why it is solving an important problem, and why your team is likely to be successful. Professionally make the case that your idea is innovative, creative, appropriate for mobile devices, useful, engaging, addictive, buildable in the span of a semester.

Any "facts" should be backed up by citations to appropriate research. You should demonstrate that your team had done its research and understands what has been done that is related in technology and health. You should demonstrate clearly why, if your team is successful, your idea will be transformative in health (and, of course, you must clearly make the case for the health benefits) and innovative in technology.

You are strongly encouraged to include some type of storyboard, video, or video storyboard in your presentation. You are also encouraged to include some indication that you have explored the necessary technical development to know that you will not run into major snags. If you have any test software working, be sure to mention what.

For this presentation, there is no specific slide template or style. You have 15 minutes to make a professional, detailed pitch, that strongly justifies why the problem you have selected (and the solution you proposed) is where your work will have the most impact on health and transforming healthcare as we know it. You will be cut off after 15 minutes, so practice your timing. There will be time for discussion after each presentation. Do not just regurgitate prior material. Everything should be improving each week.

Presentation formats are expected to be clean, professional, and well-done. They should be typo-free and information should be explained, not packed onto slides. Do not resort to clip art, but be as visual as possible. The team needs to coordinate how the work is presented. If you use multiple speakers, then the transitions between speakers should be smooth and demonstrate the presentation has undergone a lot of practice runs.

Email your slides as PPT named PHIDD-Team[Number].TeamProjectPitch.ppt to ...@neu.edu by the deadline so there is time to compile them before class.

Please practice your presentation and make a strong pitch. The level of professionalism for the presentation should be very high. You must use your online tools when developing your idea and presentation. They should indicate clearly that everyone is participating and that discussion and work is robust and continuous.
