We’re partnering with Boston Public Schools, as well as other schools in the region and beyond, to demystify CS, dismiss stereotypes, and open up the image of a CS career. Initiatives include:
- SMASH Academy – A residential college prep program that offers Boston high school students the opportunity to study CS at Khoury during the summer and prepare for STEM degrees and careers. Read more about this partnership.
- High School Visit Days – Students come to campus for hands-on workshops—like detecting bias and investigating the ethics of Natural Language Processing algorithms—led by MS and PhD students who love to teach.
- Professional development – We collaborate with high school CS teachers on our Visit Day workshops, then share resources and curriculum so they can continue to help students develop CS skills in their classrooms.
