A wide view of the student clubs fair at Northeastern. Three red canopy tents are set up in a campus plaza shaded by trees. Club members stand behind tables under the tents while students interested in joining clubs ask questions.

Northeastern Virtual Reality

Whether you’re a developer, a designer, or just someone looking to try VR, we welcome everyone.

Northeastern Virtual Reality, or NUVR, was founded to provide virtual and augmented reality experiences at no cost to Northeastern students.

The club aims to use the latest technologies to develop and research virtual experiences, and to create an environment where developers, designers, tinkerers, and curious students can explore and build nascent VR technologies. The club’s 100-plus members gain hands-on XR experience and skills through one-off workshops and semester-long projects, and will develop programming and game design abilities as well. Additionally, members receive notice about VR and XR events being held by other local groups like Boston VR and MIT Reality Hack.

Being able to see the maps and interactions we’ve spent a semester creating is such a rewarding feeling, especially with pizza!
