PawHacks

The first student-led hackathon at Northeastern’s Oakland campus

PawHacks is an annual, three-day, student-run hackathon at Northeastern’s Oakland campus. The event aims to promote innovation through technology, strengthen community among Northeastern’s Oakland students, and foster learning and leadership.

PawHacks is a collaboration between three Oakland clubs: Girls Who Code, the Computer Science Coalition, and the Entrepreneurs Club. Participation in the hackathon is open to all college students, including non-NU students, regardless of their major or experience level. Students interested in e-board positions should ideally be NU Oakland students with some experience, though there are no specific prerequisite courses.

In addition to participating in the hackathon itself, PawHacks members can attend social events, workshops, and talks from potential employers. Participation helps students to build coding skills and a professional network, while getting involved at a leadership level can help students learn specific management, design, and outreach skills.

Our goal is to cultivate innovation and the sharing of new ideas
