Four members of Oasis stand near their club's poster at a Northeastern club fair in the ISEC building. Two students stand to the left of poster and the other two students stand to the right.

Oasis

We teach students to teach themselves how to make their own apps and websites.

Oasis is an eight-week program that helps students learn to build their first website or app.

Oasis believes in three key values: remaining open, teaching participants how to learn rather than learning frameworks, and learning by doing. As such, the club focuses not only on helping participants to tackle their first CS project but also on giving them a strong foundation for subsequent projects. They do this through two programs: the Explorer Series — a collection of workshops, employer events, and networking opportunities that are open to all — and the Project Series, in which beginners build websites and apps with the support of Oasis mentors.

Process to join

Attend an info session at the start of each semester to learn about joining the Project Series. Explorer Series events are open to all.
