Northeastern Women in Technology

Supporting women interested in computer science, data science, cybersecurity, and information science

Northeastern Women in Technology, or NUWIT, is a special interest group that supports women interested in computer science, data science, cybersecurity, and information science.

Women in the tech industry face a lack of representation in the workforce, a pay gap, and impostor syndrome. NUWIT works to support its roughly 300 members through those and other challenges by helping them to network, learn technical concepts, improve their resumes and interview skills, and socialize with other students.

Specifically, NUWIT hosts informational talks, workshops, and panels to learn about the tech industry; creates opportunities for members to network with tech companies; and fosters a supportive community for all women in technology. Previous events have included tech talks with representatives from Cisco, Meta, VMware, and HubSpot, and a resume review session in collaboration with NU Cheese Club.
