Women in Cybersecurity

A community of engagement, encouragement, and support for women in cybersecurity

Women in Cybersecurity is the Northeastern chapter of the national professional organization Women in Cybersecurity (WiCyS), which works to build a robust and diverse cybersecurity workforce by recruiting, retaining, and advancing women in the field.

As a club dedicated to bringing together women and gender nonconforming folks interested in community and knowledge sharing, NU WiCyS holds professional events like career prep sessions, networking events, and technical workshops. The club also holds regular social events like movie nights, bracelet making, and study sessions. The group encourages its members to apply to attend the national Women in Cybersecurity conference, held each spring.

Participating members prepare to find work in cybersecurity by learning about security tools and skills, and by discussing gender-related experiences such as impostor syndrome.
