CTF Club

Northeastern University’s capture the flag contest organization

The CTF Club is Northeastern’s student-run cybersecurity capture the flag (CTF) contest organization. Cybersecurity enthusiasts of all experience levels are encouraged to learn hands-on, technical, offensive cybersecurity skills through accessible workshops, trainings, and two CTF competitions per semester.

CTF Club’s mission is to foster a vibrant community for cybersecurity enthusiasts to learn, collaborate, and compete. Friendly competitions simulate real-world scenarios, giving participants practical experience discovering and exploiting vulnerabilities in systems, networks, and applications. Competitions often have themes, such as murder mystery and trick-or-treat, and the CTF Club also partners with other cybersecurity organizations such as WiCyS and NUSecurity to organize larger CTF competitions.

The club’s 70-plus members build skills in areas such as problem-solving, ethical hacking, programming, network and systems security, computer forensics, command line proficiency, time management, and teamwork.
