Biography

Thea Celestine is a graduate experiential learning and career services network advisor in the Khoury College of Computer Sciences at Northeastern University, based in Arlington, Oakland, Miami, and Align Online.

In addition to providing co-op support to the network campuses, Celestine manages the Khoury Graduate Career Peer Advisor program. She is passionate about helping students discover their strengths and interests, empowering students to take charge of their career plans, and instilling in them a sense of awareness, freedom, and creativity. As a first-generation college student, she was deeply impressed by Northeastern’s emphasis on diversity and inclusivity.

While writing her dissertation about the professional identity development of African American female college presidents, Celestine published a pair of articles and began an internship with the Khoury College co-op team. Eager to leverage her social work skills from her time as a licensed mental health professional in Louisiana, she joined Khoury College full-time after completing her dissertation. Celestine’s diverse professional background includes a role as a graduate research assistant, work at the US Department of Education supporting the White House Initiative on HBCUs, and a role with the Louisiana Board of Regents, where she assisted the assistant commissioner on student health and wellness.

Outside of work, Celestine is a dedicated fitness enthusiast, an avid traveler, and a passionate fan of the New Orleans Saints and Houston Astros. She also cherishes spending quality time with her family and friends and is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha.
