Heather Wise is an academic advisor in the Khoury College of Computer Sciences at Northeastern University, based in Boston.

After having a fantastic and supportive undergraduate advisor who helped her to grow as a student, person, and professional, Wise was inspired to pursue the same path. Among other roles, she spent six years doing student support at Emerson College, eventually working her way up to the assistant directorship of the Office of Student Success. She also spent time in development and programming roles for Brigham and Women’s Hospital and the Central Square Theater.

Wise joined Khoury College because her commitment to equity, inclusion, and belonging aligns with the school’s mission of computer science for everyone. She enjoys building relationships and working one-on-one with her students, as well as learning about Khoury College’s many combined majors so she can counsel her students effectively.

In her spare time, Wise trains her poodle Maizee, a certified therapy dog and AKC Canine Good Citizen, in agility jumps and commands. She also enjoys fantasy novels, knitting, and embroidery.
