My Background

I grew up in Brazil and earned my undergraduate degree in biology. For five years, I dedicated myself to teaching students at various levels, from middle school to high school. In 2013, I moved to the USA but at the time I couldn’t pursue further education.

In late 2021, amidst the challenges posed by COVID-19 pandemic, I stumbled upon Northeastern University’s Align program. I attended the “Break into Tech” session and without hesitation I submitted my application. Northeastern has opened up new horizons for me, igniting my passion for data science and its potential to derive valuable insights from datasets. I am excited to leverage my background in biology and teaching experience in this exciting field.

My Future

As the first member of my family to attain higher education, I consider this achievement a significant milestone. I am committed to using my journey as inspiration to support and motivate many more students who follow a similar path. My aspiration is to further delve into the field of health data science, enabling me to extract valuable insights from medical data, particularly concerning the equitable delivery of treatments. I am excited about the prospect of making a meaningful contribution to this important aspect of healthcare.
