Sina Ahmadi
Sina Ahmadi
Pronouns: he/him
Bio:
Sina Ahmadi is a doctoral student in the Khoury College of Computer Sciences at Northeastern University, based in Boston. He is advised by Peter Desnoyers.
Since joining Khoury College in 2023, Sina has focused on cloud computing, storage systems, distributed systems, and operating systems. He enjoys finding ways to make existing systems work faster, more reliably, and with fewer errors, and he appreciates being in a field that has immediate and tangible impacts on industry. He is particularly interested in finding architectures that can more rapidly access the data required to perform computations, a key area of study as storage speeds continue to lag behind CPU speeds.
Before joining Khoury College, Sina worked as a research assistant at both the Data Storage, Networks, & Processing (DSN) Lab at Sharif University of Technology and at the Sharif High Performance Computing Center — all while pursuing his master’s degree. These positions allowed him to explore hyperconverged infrastructures and high-performance computing. Sina wrote his master’s thesis, “Efficient and Load Balanced I/O Cache Architecture for Hyperconverged Infrastructures,” while working with the DSN Lab.
In his free time, Sina enjoys putting on his headphones and going for long walks, especially when it’s cool and cloudy outside.
Education:
- MSc in Computer Engineering, Sharif University of Technology — Iran
- BSc in Computer Engineering, K. N. Toosi University of Technology — Iran
