Biography
Gerard Donahue is a PhD student at the Khoury College of Computer Sciences at Northeastern University. He earned his bachelor’s in computer science from the University of New Hampshire. He is part of the Mathematical, Computational and Applied Data Science Lab.
Donahue’s research area is machine learning, and his primary interest is to harness the power of machine learning algorithms to increase the value of modern technology. He sees reinforcement learning as a prime way to accomplish this, where learning from reward feedback can tackle many real-world problems in autonomous systems, computer vision, and more. His faculty advisor is Ehsan Elhamifar.
In his free time, he enjoys hiking, snowboarding, running, lifting, and playing guitar.
