Biography

Blair MacIntyre is a teaching professor in the Khoury College of Computer Sciences and the College of Arts, Media and Design at Northeastern University, based in Boston.

MacIntyre's teaches computer graphics, augmented and virtual environments, ethics and privacy, and user interface software. Prior to joining Northeastern, he was a professor of interactive computing at Georgia Tech and a principal research scientist at Mozilla.

MacIntyre’s work has been published in numerous journals, including the Journal of Media Innovations (2021), Frontiers in Virtual Reality (2021), WebXR Developer Summit (2021), ACM Learning @ Scale (2020 and 2021), IEEE VR (2020), ACM SIGCHI Workshop on Social VR (2020), IEEE VR Workshop on Virtual Conferencing (2020), IEEE VR Workshop on K-12 Embodied Learning through VR/AR (2019), Web3D (2019), IEEE ISMAR (2018), and Workshop on Virtual, Augmented and Mixed Reality for HRI (2018).

Outside of teaching, MacIntyre enjoys playing esports (Overwatch and Valorant) and the bagpipes. He was born and raised in Canada.
