Biography
Maelynn Alley is a manager of faculty affairs at the Khoury College of Computer Sciences at Northeastern University. After receiving her bachelor’s from Furman University, she moved to Seoul, South Korea to work as a teacher and faculty manager. There, Alley attended Yonsei University and received her master’s in global affairs and policy before joining Northeastern in 2021.
In her role at Khoury College, Alley is in a unique position to help both faculty and staff. She has always had a passion for learning, but her experience overseas at various schools and companies showed her how crucial staff and faculty are for education. Alley works closely with both administration and the associate dean of faculty to support faculty needs and events. Additionally, she assists committee chairs in managing meetings and coordinating guest speakers as she enjoys the opportunity to meet people and learn new skills. Alley finds Khoury College’s mission of “computer science for everyone” most compelling because she believes education is an area that should be open to all who want to learn.
