Biography
Prasad Saripalli is a part-time lecturer at the Khoury College of Computer Sciences at Northeastern University. He earned his master's in computer science from Washington State University and doctoral training in both computer science and environmental systems engineering from the University of Florida. At Northeastern, he teaches artificial intelligence, machine learning, natural language processing, cloud engineering, networking, and distributed systems.
Saripalli currently serves as both vice president of machine learning and artificial intelligence and distinguished engineer at MindBody, a technology leader providing wellness business management software for gyms, spas, and salons worldwide. Earlier, as vice president of machine learning and artificial intelligence at Edifecs, Prasad Saripalli helped design, build and deliver the Smart Decisions AI and machine learning platform with an app store for both health care payers and providers. Prior to joining Edifecs, he served as the chief technology officer and vice president of engineering at Secrata.com, which provides military-grade cloud security solutions and platforms. He has also served as the chief technology officer at ClipCard and as the chief architect for IBM’s SmartCloud Enterprise, as the principal group program manager for Microsoft’s client virtualization team, which was responsible for shipping Virtual PC on Windows 7, and as a development manager on the Citrix group that built Citrix Presentation Server, now Citrix XenApp. He serves as a professor of practice at the University of Washington’s Continuum College.
He has published work and patents in distributed systems, cloud systems, and virtualization as they relate to work experience at Citrix, Microsoft, and IBM Research.
Saripalli grew up in South India.
