Biography
Amit Shesh is a teaching professor and an assistant dean of master's programs at Khoury College of Computer Sciences. He earned his bachelor’s in computer technology from Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute in Mumbai, India, and both his master’s and doctorate in computer science from the University of Minnesota. The courses he most enjoys teaching are programming-intensive courses, in particular computer graphics as it relates to his passion and area of research. He derives great pleasure in presenting the topics from different viewpoints so that students may fully understand the material.
Shesh’s research includes problems of visual computing and the use of graphics in computer science education. He is increasingly interested in how and whether multi-modal interactivity, often made possible by mobile smart devices, can be used to solve 3D modeling and visualization problems. He devises algorithms that solve problems related to visual computing using intuitive and smart interactivity.
Shesh grew up in Nagpur, India.
